    July 13th Meeting

We had a great meeting! We talked about food choices, meal ideas, we discussed our reasons for wanting to follow through and keep losing this time. We shared recipes, and talked about using the Wii for exercise for those of us that can't exercise anymore. Gaye loves hers! She said it's great for moving around, small but constant motions, balance and fun.

The more we get together the better things are getting. It takes a few weeks sometime months to get into the mindset, it's a slow process, but together we can do it. It's becoming a Sunday habit. I personally drag myself there and always leave feeling so good -'' and not just from being motivated but also the bonding of new friendships.

As I said at the meeting on Sunday, I realize we won't have a regular group during the summer with people being on vacations and family events; so if we can make it there then please join try... it will be worth it. I won't be there every week either but I will be ther every Sunday possible.

Hey did anyone else make doc's chili this week? I did and it's great!

Have A Great Week Weight Buddies!

This week, discover your hardest time of the day - then think of something you can do to make that time better; for example - eat something healthy or find something else to do. Good Luck!

    Week 2

Another good week! In attendance were Marcia, Gaye, Marilyn F., Dottie, and Eileen P.

We discussed the main challenge we all face. Motivation! We need to find a way to get motivation and keep it! We can talk about what we would like to be; but we need to put this into action. For those that just joined the group this weeks challenge is to write all you eat. For week 2 we are going to work on planning ahead and making a list of some of your favorite foods to choose from and to use as a help when shopping.

Click here to see a sample of my favorites. My list will continue to grow

Click here to see a sample menu planner. This is a blank, but I use it for myself.

We have also set our first goal. In one month we will each lose at least 5 pounds. So, remember to weigh yourselves tomorrow morning and write it down. In one month we want to see 5 less pounds on you! YOU/WE/I CAN DO IT!

    Week 1

We had a good, productive first meeting.

Together, Dannis, Eileen F, Eileen P, Lee P, Dottie and Linda discussed losing and gaining. Why do we gain weight back after working so hard to lose it; and how we can begin the journey of breaking that habit.

This week our focus is:

  • Self awareness: To eat as we always do; but write it all down and bring it to the meeting next week.

  • Motivation: Find something that means so much you will give up that food you are getting ready to eat. It's always helpful to make it a visual. For example: If you want to wear a smaller size then take something smaller out and put it where you can see it every day. It could be a picture of yourself - either what you would like to look like or what you don't want to look like. Whatever works for you.

A Little About Me

  • I gained over 100 pounds in 1 year when I was 20 years old. In 1975 I joined Weight Watchers and lost 145 pounds in 2 years and became such a believer I became a Weight Watchers Leader and taught the Program for 7 years. I kept my weight off until about 5 years ago and too many pounds are back. It seemed to just creep back slowly but the reality is that I stopped doing all I learned and it's not a good feeling. These pounds are just visitors, not residents and I'm ready to do it again. Maybe not quite as easy as before, I'm quite a bit older, but I know I can do it! I have to re-program how I look at food and what choices I make. If you would like to join me in this journey it would be fun to have you along. :-)

      • I am married to my amazingly wonderful husband Lee, I have 2 children ages 31 and 38, 5 grandchildren ages 5 to 20, and 2 stepchildren ages 29 and 31.

      • I have worked at the Defense Department for 25 Years and hope to retire in the next year or two.

      • I went back to school in 2002 and after 2 years of school I became a Christian Counselor in my spare time.
